The tank is designed to comply with water safety regulations, specifically to prevent contamination from backflow when connected to mains water systems.
The air gap feature ensures that the tank inlet does not become submerged, protecting the mains water supply from contamination. This tank meets the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 in England and Wales, and the Scottish Water Byelaws 2004.
